Scrap Collection Built Around Factory and Warehouse Operations
Factories and warehouses generate scrap metal in ways that are quite different from a small workshop. There's often more volume, heavier material, and less spare floor space to store it in. Foremost Metal Recycling has been collecting scrap from factory floors and warehouse units across Surrey for 15 years, and we plan every job around keeping your operation moving, not interrupting it.
From production offcuts and rejected stock to old racking, redundant machinery, and packaging waste with metal content, we take the material away safely and pay a fair price for anything with scrap value.

The service
Working Around Your Site
We know that a factory floor or warehouse can't simply stop for a collection. Our team will agree access times and routes with your site manager in advance, whether that means working around shift patterns, using a specific loading bay, or timing the job for a quieter period. Where a job involves heavier plant or racking, we bring HIAB-equipped vehicles so lifting is done safely without needing your own forklift or crew.

The service
Planning a Larger Clear-Out
If you're reconfiguring a warehouse, decommissioning a production line, or clearing an entire unit, it's worth having a site visit before the job so we can plan vehicle access, lifting equipment, and timings properly. This avoids delays on the day and means we can give you a more accurate collection date and price up front.
For multi-unit industrial estates, we're also used to coordinating with site management or landlords over access, parking for our vehicles, and any specific rules that apply to the estate as a whole, so the collection doesn't cause friction with neighbouring units.
Keeping Downtime to a Minimum
Every hour a factory line or warehouse bay is tied up waiting for a collection is an hour of lost productivity. We aim to be efficient on site: assessing the job quickly, loading methodically, and leaving the area as clear and tidy as we found it, so your team can get straight back to work.

The service
Handling Larger Volumes Efficiently
Factories and warehouses often generate scrap in bulk rather than small amounts, which changes how a collection needs to be planned. Rather than repeated small visits, it's often more efficient to consolidate material into a stillage, cage, or RoRo skip and arrange a single larger collection. We can advise on the right setup for your site based on the type and volume of scrap you're generating, so you're not paying for more visits than necessary.
Supporting Site Reconfigurations and Line Changes
When a factory changes over a production line or a warehouse reorganises its layout, the resulting scrap can appear all at once rather than gradually. We're used to being brought in for these larger, one-off jobs alongside our regular scheduled customers, and can usually turn around a quote quickly so the wider project isn't held up waiting on a scrap collection.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you collect outside normal working hours?
Where it helps avoid disruption to your operation, we can discuss early morning or out-of-hours collections. Let us know your constraints when you call.
Do you dismantle racking or machinery, or do we need to do that first?
We can dismantle straightforward racking and equipment on site as part of the job. For complex or bespoke machinery, let us know in advance so we can bring the right tools and team.
Will you provide containers to collect scrap between visits?
Yes, depending on your volumes we can supply stillages or arrange a RoRo skip so scrap has a proper place to go rather than building up on the floor.
Do you need a risk assessment or site induction before you attend?
If your site requires an induction or has specific safety requirements, just send these over in advance and our team will complete them before arrival.
What happens to racking or machinery that still has some working life left?
If equipment could be reused rather than scrapped, we're happy to talk through that with you, though our core service is metal collection and recycling once you've decided it's no longer needed.
Can you handle a full unit clearance including non-metal waste?
Our core focus is metal, but we also offer commercial strip-out and clearance services, so ask us if your job includes a mix of metal and general waste.
How much notice do you need for a large collection?
For straightforward jobs we can often turn things around within a few days. For larger reconfigurations involving lifting equipment or specific access arrangements, a little more notice helps us plan properly.
